Emergency/Urgent Services and After Hours Care
Medical Emergencies are situations that involves a serious injury or threat
to life. Examples include:
- Difficulty breathing
- Unconsiousness or unresponsiveness
- Significant blood loss from open wounds
- Obvious fracture
- Chest Pain

Patients are transported by ambulance to the Huntington Memorial Hospital

There is no co-payment for emergency room services in the case
of an actual emergency. Students may use any hospital emergency room without a
co-payment.
Students will be charged a co-payment for emergency room service
if the situation is not an emergency but an urgent one.
An urgent medical condition is one that is not life threatening but needs
immediate medical attention and can be seen either at the Health Center on a
walk-in basis or at our contracted urgent care center. Examples of urgent conditions
are:
- Any injury with significant pain or swelling
- Possible fracture or dislocation
- Minor bee sting reaction
- Cuts or lacerations
Our contracted Urgent Care Center is:
Fair Oaks Urgent Care Center 401 South. Fair Oaks Avenue. Pasadena,
CA 626-795-2244 Hours: Open 7 days a week, 24 hours
If you are not sure whether you should go to the urgent care, call the Health
Center and speak to any of the nurse practitioners during normal hours of operation.
After hours, weekends and holidays, you can call 626-584-2421 and ask to speak
to Dr. Stuart C. Miller.
